What are the hours of study?
The diploma course year is a full time course. Week-day class sessions run from 9am–1pm daily Monday–Friday. Students are required to arrive at 8:45 am for registration and daily duties. The schedule per week incorporates 15 hours of teaching time. Students would be notified in advance of any other term commitments outside of this schedule.
Attendance
IBIOL maintains strict attendance registers to monitor student performance and comply with UK Border Agency requirements (for overseas students). Generally, any students whose attendance falls below 80% will fail the course. Furthermore IBIOL is obliged to inform the government authorities if a visa student’s attendance falls below 80%. Attendance is reviewed in the middle and at the end of each term to ascertain this.
Are all courses compulsory?
All modules in our diploma courses are internally awarded and are compulsory. Elective options are available for streams in areas of specialisation. Students wishing to transfer to IBIOL from another college would be required to provide a full transcript and/or report of subjects studied with their application. Where appropriate, credit will be given for comparable work from a recognised institution.
Does the fee include accommodation and living expenses?
The course fee covers tuition only and does not include accommodation costs. Students would need to find accommodation if relocating to London. IBIOL assists students in finding accommodation by providing useful information on relevant websites and local newspapers. This information is available on request for enrolling students.
The average cost of accommodation in West London is £280-£430(single) and £459-£690(double) while the cost of a one bedroom rental is £700-£800.* (*This information is provided as a guideline and should be checked at the time of application).

How much funding is required by overseas students?
The cost of living in the UK and funding requirements are covered under the “Money” section of the guidance notes. Under the new Tier 4 regulations points are awarded on assessment of whether a student has enough money for their course and living expenses.
